New Volks on the EvoX

We had some Volks lying around that came off of a 350z that just happened to be the same lug pattern as the evo. So we decided to throw some new tires on them and test them out on the EvoX. They are 18x9.5's in the front with a +22 offset and 18x10.5's in the rear with the same +22 offset. (They are the offset you get if you call up volk and order wheels for a 350z/G35.)

We put 275/35/18's all the way around and put BC Coilovers on at the same time. The car will end up being lower, but there is no rubbing even at full lock. More information to come on if it affects gearing...

ACT Clutch for our EvoX

Hey Guys, We have been taking our EvoX to the track every week to try to get used to the car and we thought we would fill everyone else in on what we've been finding

The only major gripe we have with the car besides the fact that the stock unflashed computer tries to punch you in the face every time you try to go fast, is that the car is much more tricky to launch than the earlier evos.

We have put several different drivers behind the wheel at our local track, and everyone says the same thing. The car for some reason likes to launch at a very high rpm to cut low 60ft's and prevent bogging off the line. This eventually starts to wear out the stock clutch and it starts to let go through 1st and even 2nd, ruining the pass.

We took our stock clutch out about as far as we could till we decided it was time to eliminate that problem.

We chose to go with the ACT Heavy Duty Clutch with Street Disk (ME1-HDSS) for our car, we have had luck with it in the other evos in the past and didnt think twice about picking it again for our EvoX. Since switching to the ACT ME1-HDSS, the car is launching much smoother, without the bogging issue. Also, the car is shifting perfectly at high rpm, the gears go right in every time. Every time we have taken the car down the track *which is a lot now* we no-lift shift the car and since we put the clutch it has been holding perfectly, and shifting with ease.
